Psychology Doctoral Intern
University of Miami
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
I am an Implementation Research postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Mental Health at Perelman School of Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my graduate training in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Miami, and my clinical internship at the Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia.
My research and clinical interests lie around the intersections of religion/spirituality, culture, trauma, and addressing low global mental health literacy and care. I aim to understand how religion/spirituality may be used for healing from mental and physical health difficulties, and how they may be exacerbating harm. I have experience in delivering culturally informed, spiritually integrated mental health care to diverse groups, and hope to create access to care for those who are underserved, as well as those who are most resistant to mental health care. Visit the Muslim American Project's (MAP) website for additional information.
I also have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring others.
